Practice Overview
Shaun joined 3VB as a pupil in October 2024.
Before coming to the Bar, Shaun obtained a PhD in Law and LLM at University College London and a BA in Law from King’s College, University of Cambridge. He received the Brick Court Scholarship from Middle Temple to support his vocational studies.
Alongside his PhD studies Shaun worked as a research assistant to Professor Philippe Sands KC. He worked on several investor-State disputes, CAS disputes and cases before the ICJ and ITLOS. Shaun has also assisted Professor Paul Davies with various commercial law research projects (including updating Snell’s Equity) and Professor Martins Paparinskis at the United Nations International Law Commission in Geneva.
Shaun has taught various modules at both undergraduate and graduate level at University College London, including contract law, trusts law, conflict of laws and international investment law. He has published several journal articles on a range of international and private law topics and his work has been cited by the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council and the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal. Before starting his PhD studies, Shaun worked in the dispute resolution teams of Fietta LLP in London and Herbert Smith Freehills in Hong Kong.
