3VB recruits Hefin Rees QC
We are delighted to announce that Hefin Rees QC (currently of 39 Essex Chambers) has accepted an offer of tenancy from 3 Verulam Buildings. He becomes the second silk, after Hodge Malek QC, to join 3VB in 2018, along with juniors Saima Hanif, Farhaz Khan, Yash Bheeroo, James Potts and Cleon Catsambis. Sarah Tulip, Will Day, Sophia Dzwig and Ryan Ferro have all joined from pupillage this year, and 3VB has also made a number of prominent international hires as Associate Tenants in 2018.
In a joint statement, 3VB’s Heads of Chambers, Ewan McQuater QC and Adrian Beltrami QC, said: “We are really pleased to be taking on another excellent silk at 3VB. Hefin has a strong commercial practice with a large international element in both offshore litigation and arbitration. He is a perfect fit to enhance our existing practices and his experience in construction and infrastructure will help to grow our increasingly well-regarded offering in this important area of international practice. The quality of our lateral hires in recent years, combined with that of our outstanding recruits from pupillage, is testament to the growing reputation of 3VB for commercial dispute resolution of all kinds both in England and internationally.”
Hefin Rees QC said: “39 Essex Chambers is an excellent set, and is a place where I have always been very happy. I would like to thank my colleagues there for their friendship and wish them every success in the future. I am now really delighted to be moving to 3VB, a set with a tremendous and growing reputation, and I am thoroughly looking forward to working with them.”
