3VB to Host International Arbitration Day at LIDW 2026
3VB is delighted to serve as one of three hub organisations hosting International Arbitration Day as part of London International Disputes Week this year, alongside Debevoise & Plimpton and Gibson Dunn. We are particularly proud to be the first set of chambers to host the event.
With the Rt. Hon. Lord Neuberger joining us as keynote speaker, the programme highlights the central role of the Bar in international arbitration, from advocacy and decision-making to shaping the evolution of arbitral practice. The day is designed to foster thoughtful discussion and meaningful engagement on some of the most pressing issues facing the field.
The programme will explore themes including due process, defence sector disputes, and the future direction of international arbitration, across four panel sessions:

9.30 – 11am BST: Due Process Challenges: Is Arbitration Getting Worse or Are Courts Getting More Activist?
- There’s been an uptick in successful challenges to awards on due process grounds (in London, Paris, Singapore) – are there more extreme cases out there, or are national courts losing their reluctance to intervene?

11.30am – 1pm BST: Reimagining Arbitration: Three Bold Ideas
- Three “mini-lectures” with each speaker presenting a single idea for how arbitration could be improved. The aim is to elicit bold thinking, from people with the authority and the vision to carry it off.

- This panel will explore the unique challenges and opportunities in arbitrating disputes arising from defence contracts.
