3VB Welcomes Emily McKechnie
3 Verulam Buildings is delighted to announce that leading commercial and civil fraud barrister Emily McKechnie has joined Chambers.
Emily is widely recognised as one of the Bar’s leading juniors, with an outstanding reputation across commercial litigation, civil fraud, shareholder disputes, contentious trusts and professional liability. She joins 3VB following a distinguished practice at a leading commercial chancery set.
Called to the Bar in 2005, Emily is consistently ranked as a leading junior by both Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 across multiple practice areas. In 2025, she was named Chancery Junior of the Year at the Chambers UK Bar Awards, having been recognised by clients and peers alike for her exceptional advocacy, technical ability and commercial approach.
Emily has extensive experience acting in high-value, complex and often international disputes. Her practice encompasses commercial litigation, civil fraud and asset recovery, fiduciary and shareholder disputes, cryptocurrency-related litigation, professional liability and contentious trust matters. She regularly appears in heavyweight Commercial Court and Chancery Division litigation and has acted in a number of the most significant fraud cases before the English courts in recent years.
Commenting on her appointment, David Head, joint Head of Chambers, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Emily to 3VB. She is an exceptional advocate with an enviable reputation for handling some of the most substantial commercial and civil fraud disputes in the market. Emily’s practice complements our existing strengths perfectly and further enhances our offering across commercial litigation, banking and finance, fraud, insolvency and shareholder disputes. We very much look forward to welcoming her to Chambers.”

“I am delighted to be joining 3VB. The opportunity to work with its outstanding clerking team and alongside members of chambers, many of whom are recognised leaders in commercial litigation, civil fraud and chancery commercial disputes, makes this an exciting next step in my practice. Having appeared against many members of chambers over the years, I very much look forward to joining them as a colleague.
I leave my previous chambers with gratitude for the support and friendship I received during my time there, and wish everyone success for the future.”
Emily’s arrival further strengthens 3VB’s market-leading commercial disputes practice, which continues to be recognised for its expertise across banking and financial services, civil fraud, company and shareholder disputes, insolvency, international arbitration and high-value cross-border litigation.
