Ali Malek KC to speak at BIICL’s The Review of the Arbitration Act 1996 event

On Wednesday 16 November, Ali Malek KC will be speaking at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law’s event on ‘The Review of the Arbitration Act 1996: How do we maintain English arbitration law as state of the art?’.

The Law Commission has recently reviewed the Arbitration Act 1996 to ensure that it continues to promote the UK as a leading seat for international commercial arbitrations. With the consultation period now running, this event will discuss the suggested amendments in areas such as confidentiality, independence, discrimination and immunity as well as procedural issues. The speakers will also address areas which have not been the subject of review, although amendments could be envisaged.
