Manchester Seminar 2025

Members of 3VB look forward to being in Manchester to present a seminar discussing key talking points, updates and trends in Commercial Litigation.

Agenda:

  • David Head KC will open the seminar with some observations on the new “access to public domain documents” pilot which comes into force shortly, providing public access to court documents, including skeleton arguments, witness statements and expert reports; plus a discussion of the new “informal” restriction orders regime.
  • Charlotte Eborall will discuss the tactics and pitfalls when choosing defendants – whether a parent can be sued for a subsidiary’s acts, successor entities and assignments and novation, and procedure under CPR Parts 17 and 19 (Collingwood v Irwin Mitchell LLP).
  • Teniola Onabanjo will cover inadvertent disclosure of privileged documents (The New Lottery Company v The Gambling Commission).
  • Rebecca Zaman will address anti-suit injunctions & enforcement of arbitration/jurisdiction clauses (VietJet, Star Hydro).
  • Maud Mullan will speak on duty of full and frank disclosure in without notice applications; risks for lawyers relying on client instructions under time pressure.
