Feisal Naqvi Appointed to the Permanent Court of Arbitration

3 Verulam Buildings is delighted to congratulate Associate Member Feisal Hussain Naqvi on his appointment as a Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

The appointment is a significant international honour and reflects Feisal’s outstanding reputation in international arbitration and public international law. Members of the PCA are nominated by Contracting Parties to the 1899 and 1907 Hague Conventions and comprise a distinguished panel of leading practitioners, academics, judges and former government officials from around the world. They are eligible to serve as arbitrators in disputes administered by the PCA and play an important role in the institution’s work in the peaceful resolution of international disputes.

Feisal is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and has extensive experience acting as counsel and arbitrator in complex commercial and investment treaty disputes. This latest appointment adds to an already distinguished record of international recognition and leadership in the field of arbitration. He has represented Pakistan in UNCITRAL Working Group III on Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) reform and recently served as the principal draftsman of the arbitration legislation prepared by the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan. In July 2024, he was appointed to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR for a three-year term, having previously served as a member of the ICCA Task Force on Standards of Practice in International Arbitration.

Everyone at 3VB warmly congratulates Feisal on this well-deserved achievement and wishes him every success in his new role.
