Legal 500 Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Awards 2024: 3VB wins Set of the Year and Tom Montagu-Smith KC awarded Commercial Silk of the Year
We are very proud to announce that at the inaugural Legal 500 MENA Awards, 3VB has been named as overall Set of the Year and Tom Montagu-Smith KC as Commercial Silk of the Year 2024. The winners were announced at a ceremony in Dubai on 8th February.
The awards aim to acknowledge the region’s exceptional array of legal talent and celebrates the contribution of lawyers, barristers, law firms, sets and in-house legal departments setting the pace in MENA, acknowledging their achievements over the last couple of years.
3VB remains a market-leading set for commercial litigation in the Middle East, ranked in Tier 1 by The Legal 500, with members acting in most of the significant disputes before the DIFC Courts, often appearing on both sides, and in the AGDM.
Tom has been appearing in the DIFC Courts since they were established. He is ranked in Tier 1 for his commercial work in the Middle East. He wrote the Rules of Court and the Rules of the Dubai World Tribunal and is active of numerous court sub-committees. He is also the co-editor of DIFC Courts Practice, the leading text on DIFC law and procedure, and was consulted on the forthcoming amendments to the constitutional legislation. Tom also drafted the AIFC Court and Arbitration Rules and the Court rules and regulations for a new free-zone in the middle east. He sits as a judge of the AIFC Court and is a panel arbitrator in the ADGM.
