Peter Ratcliffe successful in Avonwick Holdings v Azitio Holdings & Ors disputes

On 14 July 2020, Mr Justice Picken handed down judgment in Avonwick Holdings v Azitio Holdings & Ors, following an 8-week trial in one of the largest recent Commercial Court claims. The case involved a complex set of disputes between Ukrainian oligarchs, their corporate vehicles and various third parties under Ukrainian and English law. Peter Ratcliffe (instructed by Baker & McKenzie LLP) successfully defended Prandicle Ltd against proprietary and unjust enrichment claims, all of which were dismissed with an award of indemnity costs in favour of Prandicle. Peter was led by Stephen Smith QC.
