Pro Bono Victory

Adam Kramer, senior junior at 3VB and Chambers & Partners’ Commercial Junior of the Year, assisted by Morrison Foerster, both acting pro bono, obtained a judgment of around £85,000, plus a costs order payable to the Access to Justice Foundation of around £54,000, from HHJ Parfitt in the Central London County Court on Monday. The claim was brought by an elderly Afghani lady living in North London whose family’s wealth had been conned out of her by a local man. Pro bono costs orders have been available for ten years but are still not very widely used.
