Professor Louise Gullifer QC (Hons Causa) appointed to the Rouse Ball Professorship of English Law

We are delighted to offer our congratulations to Professor Louise Gullifer QC (Hons Causa) on her selection as the Rouse Ball Professor of English Law at the University of Cambridge.

Established in 1927, this is a senior professorship in English Law for which its holders are chosen based on international recognition in their field of scholarship, as well as having an outstanding record in research and publication, strategic vision and commitment to developing their field of scholarship within the University of Cambridge, and a commitment to excellence in learning and teaching.

Louise previously practised as a barrister in Chambers and still retains close contact as one of our Honorary Members, in her current role as Professor of Commercial Law in Oxford University’s Faculty of Law.  She was appointed Queen’s Counsel Honoris Causa in 2018 in recognition of her ‘major contribution to the law of England and Wales in terms of the breadth of her work both within academia and outside’.

Louise will assume her appointment as the Rouse Ball Professor of English Law in Autumn 2019.
