Successful $20m award in LCIA Arbitration

In Avanti Communications Ltd v The Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia the Claimant, represented by Adam Kramer of 3VB and Rhys Thomas of Jones Day, was awarded $20.075m in an LCIA arbitration final award. The claim against the Respondent government, represented by Hogan Lovells International LLP, was for non-payment in breach of a contract to provide satellite services using Avanti’s KA-band Artemis satellite. The final award was made by a three-man panel at a preliminary issue hearing on 6 June 2018.
