Senior IT Administrator

Reporting to the IT Director, Chambers is looking to hire a Senior IT Administrator. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment, providing IT support to barristers and staff. You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining the security of our network and services while troubleshooting and providing support for computers, phones, software, and more.

In this role, you will work closely with all members of Chambers and staff, assisting them with any IT issues they encounter. We understand that IT problems can be stressful for those who rely on technology, so you will deliver a service that is calm, helpful, and communicated in a way everyone can understand.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support over phone calls, email, and remote access software.
  • Troubleshoot errors on desktops, laptops, mobile phones, and software suites.
  • Log and record support events and updates in our internal ticketing system.
  • Follow up on issues regularly to ensure they are resolved to the satisfaction of clients.
  • Advise on best working practices and security protocols.
  • Complete defined processes such as user creation and onboarding, user deletion, device setup etc.
  • Work with the Chambers Director and IT Director carrying out duties as required.

Desirable Experience/Knowledge

  • Troubleshooting Windows based PC’s and laptops.
  • Troubleshooting MacOS based PC’s and laptops.
  • Troubleshooting Android and iOS-based smartphones.
  • Basic understanding of networks.
  • Basic understanding of network equipment such as switches, firewalls, and routers.
  • Basic understanding of the office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Office 365.
  • Customer service experience; ideally Chambers experience.

The hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm with one hour for lunch and 25 days paid annual leave. Other staff benefits are also provided.
