Andrew Onslow KC and James McWilliams successful in resisting jurisdiction challenge.

On 27 October 2023, Mr Justice Henshaw handed down judgment in Clifford Chance LLP v Société Générale [2023] EWHC 2682 (Comm). Mr Justice Henshaw dismissed Société Générale’s challenge to the jurisdiction of the English Court, finding that an exclusive jurisdiction clause in favour of the High Court of Paris in a series of framework agreements did not apply to Clifford Chance’s retainer.
