Matthew Hardwick KC speaks at COMBAR Lecture on Offshore opportunities

On Thursday 20 October, Matthew Hardwick KC, Alex Potts KC and Rosalind Nicholson gave a presentation (by zoom) entitled “Offshore: everything an English barrister needs to know about the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, and Bermuda, but is too afraid to ask”.

The presenters explained the nature of the courts, judges, law firms and types of work in the various jurisdictions; addressed matters of law and procedure; and touched upon more practical questions of hearings, time zones, skeleton arguments, preparation and advocacy. The presentation ended with tips for junior barristers in seeking to establish an offshore practice. The presentation was recorded and will be available for viewing on the COMBAR website imminently.
