Members of 3VB have recently updated practice notes on banks’ duties for Practical Law.

Anthony Pavlovich has provided an overview of the circumstances in which a duty of care may or may not arise when banks provide information on their customers to third parties. See Anthony’s note here.

Ravi Jackson and Devon Airey have authored a practice note on the Quincecare duty. The note deals, in particular, with the Supreme Court’s recent decision in Philipp v Barclays Bank UK Plc [2023] UKSC 25, which is now the leading case on the duty. Click here to read the note in full.
