Michael Blair QC re-appointed as the Chairman of the AIFC Legal Advisory Council

We are pleased to announce that Michael Blair QC has been re-appointed as the Chairman of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Legal Advisory Council for a second term. The re-appointment of Mr Blair was confirmed at a meeting of the Council on 16 February 2018, held at 3 Verulam Buildings.

The Council was established in the form of an advisory body to AIFC in 2017. The tasks of the Council include consideration and examination of draft acts of AIFC, conducting other advisory work. In addition, the activities of the Council will facilitate the implementation and application in AIFC of the principles, norms and precedents of law of England and Wales, as well as the formation of a legal framework in accordance with the standards of the world’s leading financial centres.
