New appointments to the AIFC Court for members of 3VB

We are pleased to announce that two members of 3VB have received new appointments as judges to the Astana International Financial Centre Court (AIFC).

Tom Montagu-Smith KC has been elevated to the senior AIFC Court, where he will sit at first instance and on appeals. Tom has a leading practice in London, the Middle East and Asia. His work includes banking, joint ventures, fraud and general commercial disputes. He drafted the AIFC Court Rules and sits on the English Civil Procedure Rules Committee.

Saima Hanif KC has been appointed as a Justice of the AIFC Small Claims Court. Saima is a global expert in financial services, and has acted in disputes across the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the Overseas Territories.  Her disputes practice encompasses banking and financial services, commercial law, insurance law, public law and sanctions law. She also sits as a Senior Decision Maker for the Guernsey FSC.
