Brexit & Financial Services: Overview

In the second of this series of notes edited by David Simpson, authors Farhaz Khan QC, Robert Purves and Calum Mulderrig provide an overview of how the Withdrawal Agreement and the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement will impact financial services in the UK. The note considers the options going forward for both UK firms operating in the EEA and EEA firms operating in the UK given the end of passporting and the absence, to date, of EU equivalence determinations under most of the Single Market Directives.
