Peter de Verneuil Smith QC and Saima Hanif QC to speak at Financial Regulatory and Disputes Summit
Peter de Verneuil Smith QC and Saima Hanif QC will be speaking at the Legal Business Financial Regulatory and Disputes Summit on Wednesday 1 December at Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London.
The event will bring together leading disputes specialists from private practice, the judiciary, regulators and in-house legal departments at financial services companies, where themes will include; spotting and mitigating ESG-related litigation and regulatory risk; Covid-19 business interruption insurance disputes and Banks’ liability for fraudulent payments.
Peter is speaking at the first panel session on Back to the Future – 2021 Highlights and 2022+ Insights alongside Natasha Harrison, Tracey Dovaston and Fiona Huntriss at Boies Schiller Flexner and Anna Hart, Head of Legal at the Bank of China.
Saima will be moderating a session with a host of expert panellists: Richard Sims, Partner at Simmons & Simmons, Sona Ganatra, Partner at Fox Williams and Harvey Knight, Partner at Withersworldwide. This session will discuss the recent Upper Tribunal decisions in Forsyth and Frensham and the impact of these decisions on any future enforcement activity. The panel will also examine the FCA’s enforcement priorities post-pandemic.
