Professor Ewan McKendrick KC (Hon) Appointed Editor of the Law Quarterly Review

We are delighted to announce that Professor Ewan McKendrick KC (Hon) has been appointed as the new editor of the Law Quarterly Review (LQR), succeeding Professor Peter Mirfield. One of the first issues under his editorship – the July 2025 edition – has just been published.

First published in 1885, the LQR is renowned for its authoritative and critical analysis across a broad spectrum of legal issues. It has long been recognised as one of the most distinguished platforms for scholarly legal debate in the UK and throughout the common law world.

In its 140-year history, the journal has had only seven editors, a distinguished group that includes Sir Frederick Pollock, Professor A.L. Goodhart, Judge Paul Baker, and Professor Francis Reynolds.

As editor, Professor McKendrick will continue the journal’s tradition of engaging with both rigorous academic scholarship and contemporary developments in legal practice. He looks forward to collaborating with contributors from universities and legal practice across the globe.
