Saima Hanif QC named in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 2022

The Lawyer has revealed their highly anticipated “Hot 100” list for 2022, naming Saima Hanif QC as one of the acclaimed legal professionals of today.

The Hot 100 list, released annually, features those who are instructed on prevailing major issues and recognises stand-out excellence in the legal profession.

The article says of Saima, “With her extensive knowledge of the financial services markets, Hanif is gaining popularity with high-profile clients who are under investigation. Later this year she will challenge the Financial Conduct Authority over its decision to privately prosecute Robin Forster, who ran Qualia Care Developments and Qualia Care Properties prior to their collapse, and who is accused of running “unauthorised” collective investment schemes.”

Called in 2002, Saima took silk in 2021. She has a formidable profile in the Financial Services regulatory space, including tackling significant disciplinary matters. Her practice also spans commercial litigation, insurance and commercial judicial review. Saima has a particular niche in cross-jurisdictional cases involving technical aspects of banking regulation. She is consistently lauded by clients for achieving unprecedented results, including T & I v FCA (a successful judicial review of the FCA staying the RDC proceedings) and Rollet v DFSA (a rare successful privacy application preventing publication of the decision until the hearing).
