Sir William Blair KC and Professor Stavros Brekoulakis Nominated for Best Lecture at GAR Awards 2026
3VB Associate Members Sir William Blair KC and Professor Stavros Brekoulakis have both been nominated for Best Lecture or Speech at the Global Arbitration Review (GAR) Awards 2026.
Sir William Blair KC is nominated for his lecture, “AI in International Dispute Resolution – An Agent for Change,” delivered at the National University of Singapore Centre for International Law (NUS CIL) in October 2025. The lecture explored the transformative role of artificial intelligence in international dispute resolution and its implications for the future of arbitration.
Professor Stavros Brekoulakis was nominated for his lecture, “Reimagining International Arbitration and the Rule of Law,” delivered at the inaugural London Arbitration Week in December 2025. In his address, Professor Brekoulakis argued that international arbitration may require fundamental reforms to ensure its continued legitimacy and alignment with the rule of law.
In 2024, Professor Brekoulakis was appointed the Michael and Laura Hwang Chair of International Arbitration at the National University of Singapore. He previously received the GAR Award for Best Lecture in 2020 for his Roebuck Lecture, “The Unwavering Policy Favouring Arbitration under English Law,” and was nominated again in 2025.
The GAR Awards ceremony will take place at the Pavillon Gabriel in Paris on 26 March 2026.
