3VB and the Lawyer’s Top 20 Cases for 2016
The Lawyer magazine has revealed its choice of Top 20 Cases for 2016, in which barristers from 3VB are prominent:
Paul Lowenstein QC has been instructed by Stewart’s Law as lead Counsel on behalf of 12 major national retailers in their competition damages claims against MasterCard and Visa; Hannah Glover is also instructed with Paul in the Visa claim;
Simmons & Simmons are instructing Adrian Beltrami QC and Laura John to defend RBS against an £800m Euribor rigging claim.
Peter Ratcliffe is part of the team instructed by Clifford Chance in Citigroup’s defence of private equity house Terra Firma’s claim of fraudulent misrepresentation relating to the acquisition of EMI;
and Christopher Harris and Paul C K Wee, instructed by White & Case, are representing the Russian Federation in its defence against enforcement proceedings brought by former shareholders in oil firm Yukos, following a $50bn arbitration award in 2014, believed to be the largest arbitration award ever made.
