3VB feature heavily in The Lawyer Top 20 cases of 2018
Seven members of 3VB have featured in the The Lawyer’s list of the “Top 20 cases of 2018”.
Adrian Beltrami QC, Andrew Sutcliffe QC, Rory Phillips QC, Sophie Mallinckrodt, Rob Purves, Anne Jeavons and Anthony Pavlovich all feature in this year’s list due to their roles in some of the most high-profile cases coming before the courts this year.
Rory Phillips QC, Sophie Mallinckrodt and Rob Purves are instructed for the regulators ( the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority) in relation to the “Ring Fencing ” scheme, whereby four of the leading retail banks in England and Wales must separate their retail operations from the rest of their business in order to protect retail customers if other areas of the business fail.
Andrew Sutcliffe QC and Anne Jeavons (and additionally now with Sarah Tulip, also of 3VB) are instructed by Fox Williams to act for Hertz defending claims by Ryanair in a €70M contract dispute, arising out of dispute over third party sales and the termination by Hertz of their agreement with the airline.
Adrian Beltrami QC and Anthony Pavlovich also feature, instructed by Simmons and Simmons and acting for Grant Thornton, resisting fraud and conspiracy claims being made by Robert Tchenguiz amounting to £1.6bn relating to the collapse of the Icelandic Bank Kaupthing.
