Cameron Miles Awarded Prestigious Francis Deák Prize

This distinguished award exceptional scholarship by a younger author whose work makes a significant contribution to the field of international law.
Cameron’s article offers a rigorous and innovative analysis of how implied terms operate within the framework of treaty law, illuminating an area of international legal practice that is both complex and increasingly relevant. His research not only clarifies the doctrinal underpinnings of implied obligations but also provides practical guidance for states, practitioners, and tribunals grappling with the interpretation of modern treaties.
Cameron is a leading barrister practicing in public international law and international commercial and investment treaty arbitration, described by the legal directories as, “a true expert in PIL” and “a brilliant young lawyer in the international law space”.
