Members of 3VB are pleased to announce that Matthew Watson has joined Chambers.
Called in 2012, Matthew is a leading junior with a thriving commercial disputes practice. He appears regularly in the English courts and as counsel in arbitral proceedings. Matthew’s experience spans banking and financial services, commodities, sale of goods, corporate and insolvency disputes and civil fraud.
Matthew has particular experience in disputes with a Middle Eastern focus, in particular in the UAE. He is recommended in Tier 1 in the Legal 500 MENA (Commercial) as one of the leading juniors specialising in Middle Eastern litigation, with clients praising his, “sharp legal mind”. He is one of the contributors to DIFC Courts Practice (2020), the DIFC equivalent of the White Book, and to Halsbury’s Laws of the DIFC. He was also part of the drafting team for the court rules in NEOM, a new Saudi Arabian free zone.
On joining Chambers, Matthew said, “It is great to be joining such a fantastic set of barristers. I am looking forward to growing my commercial disputes practice at 3VB.”
