Tariq Baloch succeeds in defending a multi-billion dollar arbitral award in the Commercial Court

Tariq Baloch was recently part of a counsel team, alongside Ricky Diwan KC, that successfully obtained a summary judgment on a section 67 challenge to a multi-billion dollar award in the long running Crescent v National Iranian Oil Company dispute. The judgment of Butcher J can be found here. Tariq and Ricky were instructed by Michael Darowski, Jennifer Ronz and Jannika Glendon of McDermott Will & Emery.

This follows on from an earlier decision this summer, in which the same team (including Constantine Partasides KC) successfully defended the award from a challenge under section 69.
