3VB’s Fraud Breakfast Forum: Unexplained wealth orders

Members of 3VB’s Civil Fraud Team are proud to present a series of morning talks in a digestible form.

UWOs are the most recent development in the Proceeds of Crime civil recovery regime. Available since 1 February 2018, they are at present a “hot topic”, not just for the media (who enjoyed reporting how much the first UWO target spent in Harrods each week) but also for banks and other financial institutions concerned to know how to react to UWOs served on their customers/clients.

Andrew Sutcliffe QC and Anne Jeavons are recognised as leaders in the field and acted in one of the few cases in which a UWO has so far been granted. Their talk aims to demystify UWOs and put them in the context of the POCA toolkit as a whole.
